THE JOURNEY EXPERIENCE

What to Expect on the Road — Rest Stops, Prayer Breaks & Landmarks?

The Makkah to Madinah journey is more than a transfer — for many pilgrims, it’s a meaningful road that connects the two holiest cities in Islam.

AIRPORT PICKUP PROCESS

Your Pickup at Jeddah Airport — Step by Step.

We track your flight.

Share your flight number when booking. If your flight is delayed, your driver adjusts automatically — no extra waiting charges.

Driver meets you at arrivals

Whether you land at Terminal 1, the North Terminal, or arrive via the Haramain High-Speed Train station, your driver will be waiting at the exit with your name.

Luggage help included

Your driver assists with bags — especially helpful after a long international flight with family and Umrah luggage.

Direct to your hotel

No shared rides, no multiple stops. Straight to your Makkah hotel.

MIQAT / IHRAM STOP

Entering Ihram — Miqat Stop on the Way to Makkah.

Many pilgrims traveling from Jeddah Airport to Makkah need to enter the state of Ihram before crossing the Miqat boundary. Most international pilgrims make their niyyah (intention) on the plane before landing, as flights cross the Miqat before reaching Jeddah.

However, if you need a Miqat stop — for example, if you’re entering Ihram from Jeddah — our drivers are familiar with the requirements and can accommodate your needs. Just mention it when booking on WhatsApp, and we’ll plan your journey accordingly.

This is one more reason pilgrims choose a private taxi over buses or ride-hailing apps: your journey follows your religious needs, not a fixed schedule.

COMPARISON

Taxi vs Haramain Train vs Bus — Which Is Best for Makkah to Madinah??

OptionCost (Approx.)TimeBest For
Private Taxi (Israh VIP)SAR 450-900 fixed4-5 hrs hotel-to-hotelFamilies, luggage, Zamzam, flexibility
SAPTCO BusSAR 60-100 per person5-6 hrs + terminal waitingTight budgets, no time pressure
Haramain TrainSAR 150-250 per person~2.5 hrs station-to-stationLight solo travelers

The honest breakdown:

The train is faster — but only station-to-station. The Haramain High-Speed Rail covers Makkah to Madinah in about 2.5 hours. However, both stations sit outside the city centers. You'll need a taxi from your Makkah hotel to the station, and another from Madinah station to your hotel — adding cost, transfers, and waiting time. Luggage limits also apply, and Zamzam water above certain quantities may be restricted. Tickets sell out days ahead in Ramadan.
The bus is cheapest — but slowest. With terminal waiting and multiple stops, budget 6+ hours total, and you'll still need transport at both ends.
A private taxi is door-to-door. For a family of 4, a SAR 450 sedan often costs the same as — or less than — four train tickets plus two taxi transfers, without any luggage limits or schedules. You leave when you're ready, stop when you need, and arrive at your hotel entrance.

NIGHT TRAVEL

Is Night Travel Safe Between Makkah and Madinah?

Yes — and many pilgrims actually prefer it. Highway 15 is a modern, well-lit, patrolled highway, and night travel means cooler temperatures, lighter traffic, and often a faster journey.

Our drivers regularly cover this route at night and are experienced with night driving conditions. Some families choose an evening departure so children sleep through the journey and arrive in Madinah refreshed for Fajr at Masjid an-Nabawi.

Whatever time you choose, our service runs 24/7 — including late-night departures during Ramadan.
